Dr. Ken Zimmerman founded the Byron Dental
Group and began practice on January 20, 1977.
Ken graduated from Byron High School in 1961.
He was a University Professor of physics and
mathematics and a public school teacher seven
years before beginning dental school.
His philosophy of practice reflects his home town,
agricultural roots and his educational background.
Patients appreciate and easily accept dental care
that they understand and that fits their needs and
budget. Comfortable communication is essential
for this to be accomplished. Ken is a member of
the ADA, MDA and ZVDA.
Dr. Doug Trebtoske attended high school at
Saint Thomas Academy. He then attended the
University of Minnesota Dental School in the same
class as Dr. Ken Zimmerman. A General Practice
Residency followed where he learned to use IV
Sedation and had extra training in oral surgery
and endodontics. Doug then worked in the military
and was on the staff of Tuffs Dental School and
NYU Dental School. He joined the Byron Dental
Group in 1979.
Doug has worked side-by-side with Ken to build
his practice and develop the philosophy of the
Byron Dental Group. He volunteers his dental
services at the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic in
Rochester and will be going to Central America as
a volunteer Dentist.
Doug is a member of the ADA , MDA,
ZVDA, Academy of General Dentistry and the
American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Christina Ganfield joined Byron Dental
Group in September 2006. She replaced a dentist
who moved to Arkansas with her husband and
family. Christina has a master’s degree in
prosthodontics from the University of Minnesota.
Christina is a member of the ADA, MDA, and ZVDA.

Dr. Todd Thayer, an orthodontist, practices in Byron on Thursdays
and alternating Mondays. He has been at Byron Dental Group for 16
years. He also has a practice in Roseville, MN. Three of the Byron
Dental Group assistants work with Dr. Thayer. This greatly enhances
dental treatment for patients of Byron Dental Group while they receive
orthodontic care. An example of this is coordination of orthodontic wires
or brackets that can be removed so that a patient can have fillings or
cleanings done. The patient then walks back down the hall to have the
wires and brackets replaced, all in one coordinated appointment.
